I would so have loved to have gone to the gig at the Fruitmarket but couldn't because of family bereavement. I had the tickets but couldn't go. I really hope something similar happens soon. Cheers for a great website. Please re-release Hardland. Best wishes to you all. XXXX

I was lucky enough to experience one of Martyn's last gigs in Aberdeen just before the release of Hardland and was hooked from that moment! Thanks you to everyone involved with Martyn Bennett Day ...I feel that the two totally different gigs really did cover pretty much the wide spectrum of his work. The evening gig was jumping as the originals were and it was truly wonderful to be able to dance to Martyn's music again! Please don't let this be the end of it.....It would be wonderful to be able to carry on enjoying the music !!

I also attended the Songs of Scotland-Skye gig which included Margaret Bennett and a few of the Glen Lyon songs were included which was another beautiful experience....thank you Margaret and the other performers!

We travelled from Chester for Martyn Bennett Day and were so glad that we did. The afternoon concert at GRCH gave us an insight into another dimension of Martyn's music in his pieces for 'Knives In Hen's' and his piano piece written for Kirsten. Also to hear the orchestral arrangments of 'Liberation' and 'Why' was very moving.

The Club Night at the Old Fruitmarket was a great celebration of Martyn's ability to bring joy to people through his music. It was wonderful to see the obvious enjoyment of everyone on stage playing the music and the elation in the audience.

Both concerts were impeccably organised and performed and a credit to all involved. The finale of pipers, drummers and crazy acrobatics was a masterstroke and unlike anything we have experienced before!

We were never fortunate enough to have seen Martyn perform, but we are so grateful to have experienced his music played with such enthusiasm skill and feeling.

Just a note to say - what a night! What a night! Cuillin Music - speechless!

Needless to say I was at the front in me kilt leaping around like a loony, much like the rest of the crowd. All I heard at the end were cries of "thank you! thank you!". You gave that crowd something they'd been craving for a long time... a proper good hootenanny! Kirstin and Co... you played a stormer and I hope that this inspires you on to play more shows. At the heart of the whole night, from the Grit violin ensemble [thank you Michael Marra!], to the promised Beltane drummed over-piped chaos that was the finale, was the spirit of Mr Martyn Bennett. I cannot think of a better way to remember him.

I'm off to my bed to recover, along with the countless other smiling faces that left the Old Fruitmarket last night.

Please re/release the old stuff!

I just have to send congratulations on a great gig yesterday [sat.14th january] as part of the Martyn Bennett day at GRCH.

Such consummate musicianship and committed playing deserves the highest praise.

In particular the set of arrangements from Mr. McFall's Chamber - and Greg Lawson's orchestral arrangements were truly a fitting tribute - and both individually and as an ensemble the performances were of the highest quality. A treat indeed!

We were blown away with the quality and commitment of the participating musicians - as well as the glimpse of Martyn's genius which was on display to everyone present in the auditorium.
Well done to everyone involved - and I hope the evening gig [which we couldn't get to] was equally successful .

Most enjoyable - any more coming up?

Oh - and is/will any of that set be available on CD/DVD at some point? I hope so.

Best wishes for continued success.
