I first heard Martyn's music a number of years ago on the radio. I loved it, and have remained a fan ever since. I was heartbroken to hear of his death and feel that it seems so unfair to take someone with so much talent and at so young an age. My thoughts are with his family and friends. God Bless!

I'll never forget Martyn's tribute concert at the Queen's Hall. It was the most affecting event I think I've ever attended. I think we all felt the deep void of his abscence that night. I just kept thinking..."Martyn's going to come in and play...he is..." I am overjoyed that Martyn Bennett day is coming to Glasgow, and that the old gang are getting back together to give him one last hootenanny. I'll be there.

I've heard of Martyn from a friend who has given me a CD called "Salm & Soul".
I am so very sorry for this loss of such a young, and talented soul! I send my deepest caring thoughts to his mother, and all of his family and friends. This CD is recommended, and has a wonderful tribute song to Martyn on it.

Thank you for the wonderful website

God Bless,
Máirín

Hello

I've got the CD "Grand Concert of Scottish Piping" on which Martyn is playing as well.
The tunes he played on this CD, did he compose them? I can't find them anywhere, and they are really good, have you released a book with his pipe music? With those tunes? Or are you going to do it?

Greetings from
Jonas Jacobsen

Just wanted to say thank you for the website. I was working on a talk on Scottish music trends for a visit to Armenia last January, and Jane Gardner put me onto it.

Martyn's "Nae Regrets" became woven in as a result.

The talk link to my blog is:

All the best with the trust!

Paul

I heard Martyn's music on the Thistle and Shamrock radio show about 8 years ago. I hunted and hunted everywhere and finally found his CD's. I play his music for all my friends. I think about his talents and genius. He was a truley unique person.

I worked with Martyn on many occasions, mostly television work, the first time being when he was a teenager. I grew to love him as a person and greatly admired his work.
He was always a joy to be with. I was deeply affected by his passing and feel deprived of a great talent.
